The Road
Novel Study Guide - Grades 9 to 12 - Print Book - Lesson Plan
Description
About the Novel:
The Road is a Pulitzer Prize winning story about a father and son's journey through post apocalyptic America. After an unspecified disaster destroys most life on Earth, a father and son must travel across a desolate landscape in hopes of making it to the coast. Along their way, they are faced with starvation, thieves, and cannibals. The landscape is without vegetation and living animals, and is covered with ash. The sky is dark, the wind is cold, and snow falls gray. Armed only with a revolver and two rounds to protect them, the father and son set out on the road. They finally reach the sea, but the father falls ill and must prepare the son for the time when he will not be around to protect him.

It is so hard to find decent resources over this novel and this is EXACTLY what I have been searching for. It will make my first time teaching this novel so much easier. Thanks!!!
Very easy to use.
Very helpful and great timesaver! Thank you.
Thank you! My students enjoyed and were challenged by the vocabulary and journal prompts.
Wonderful resource.
This is very organized and easy to use. In my opinion, though, it is not for grade 12, unless they are quite weak.
Super-organized and efficient walk through a potentially challenging novel for underclassmen. I appreciated the variety and quality of the content in each daily lesson.
Incredible!
This resource has been so helpful to me. Thank you!
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!
Based upon appearance, I thought the lessons would be too simple for my 12th-grade students. I was wrong! The questions were probing. It was a thorough and useful resource.
